On 26 September, the municipality of Borgo Valbelluna inaugurated “Il Borgo delle Meraviglie”, a centre for children aged zero to six in Villa di Villa. It brings together two preschool classes and a new nursery with forty places. The council published its account the following day. [1]

The council reports a total investment of about €3 million, funded through Italy’s recovery plan, the Bordering Municipalities Fund and municipal resources. The building covers 1,153 square metres, alongside around 1,000 square metres of garden. Families were able to visit during the opening event. [1]

The administration also presents the service as support for families choosing to live locally. That is its stated aim: opening a building does not, by itself, demonstrate that population decline has stopped. Forty places describes the nursery’s capacity, not the number of children already enrolled. [1]
