On 6 October 2026, UNDP announced the launch of the Japan-supported Universal Design School in Kyiv. Its thirty participants come from fourteen Ukrainian regions: ten occupational therapists, ten architecture and design professionals and ten social workers. They will work in mixed teams and hear from people who face barriers in everyday life. Projects are due at the end of the year; these are not yet completed spaces. [1]

The initiative continues a school launched in 2018. In its account dated 14 November 2025, UNDP described proposals for cultural spaces and accessible routes, alongside learning tools for sharing solutions. That is a record of training and design work, not evidence that every proposed intervention has been built. [2]
