On 22 September, Rome inaugurated new sports spaces and a green square in Centocelle Park. The former airport runway now accommodates basketball, volleyball and table tennis: an existing piece of infrastructure has found a new purpose. [2]

A former car park has become a square of around 4,500 square metres with benches, planting and recirculating water features. This completes one stage of regeneration, not the entire masterplan: work remains on the new entrance from Via Papiria and the area known as the tagliata. [1]

The municipal project aims to connect the park more closely to surrounding neighbourhoods through more trees and paths. The spaces already available offer a concrete gain; their lasting quality will also depend on maintenance. [3]
