On 28 September, Trento inaugurated “La farfalla dalle ali di vetro temperato”, a butterfly mural at the former Atesina site on Via Marconi. It grew from a programme involving teenagers with experience of foster care during the 2025–2026 school year. The mural itself was painted on 12 September: its creation and inauguration took place on different dates. [1]

Progetto 92 and Incontra cooperatives supported meetings, creative activities and discussion. With help from illustrator Lorena Martinello, the ideas developed into a collective artwork. Young people who had been adopted, families, staff and volunteers also joined in painting it. Participants chose the title. [1]

The province describes the butterfly as a symbol of change and growth. The mural occupies a shared space in the Solteri neighbourhood, and its inauguration formed part of the Week of Welcome. It is a tangible outcome of an educational programme, not evidence that art alone resolves people’s difficulties. [1]
