On 29 September, UNICEF concluded a two-day visit to Jordan by drawing attention to services for children. In Amman, a Jordan River Foundation centre provides learning, protection and support in partnership with the organisation. The news is the visit and the appeal to sustain support, not the opening of a new centre. [1]

The foundation’s programme brings together prevention, listening and family support. Psychosocial support concerns emotional wellbeing and relationships: it is more than completing schoolwork. Services include counselling and programmes for parents; UNICEF’s programme also highlights reaching children with disabilities and families in remote areas. [2][3]

The 29 September appeal calls for flexible, multi-year funding because falling funds make essential services harder to provide. Recognising work that already exists does not mean ignoring what is missing. The stated aim is to sustain support through the country’s systems, rather than leave it dependent on short-lived help. [1]
