On October 15 in Dhaka, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed agreements with twelve organisations under the GEF Small Grants Programme. UNDP says the twelve selected projects concern biodiversity, ecosystem restoration and sustainable livelihoods. [1][2]

The areas named include the Sundarbans, the Cox’s Bazar–Teknaf coast and the Hakaluki and Tanguar wetlands. Goals include restoring mangroves and wetlands and protecting habitats. The agreements have been signed, but the projects’ environmental and social results remain to be checked over time. [1][3]
