From 3 November, the University of Milan is presenting Karin Vettorel’s photography exhibition Karin no fudoki again at its language and cultural mediation campus in Sesto San Giovanni. The exhibition was shown at the same site in September 2018: this is a new opportunity to view it, not a newly produced photographic series. [1]

The programme connects images of rural Japan with a study meeting about landscapes, communities and social change. Geographical and historical perspectives also consider depopulation and local renewal initiatives, avoiding the idea of a countryside frozen in time. [2]

The listed venue is the campus at piazza Indro Montanelli 1. The university pages document the programme and the exhibition’s return; they give no attendance figures and do not demonstrate effects on the communities pictured. [1][2]
