Bringing school closer to children can mean sending the teacher on the journey. In a report published on 28 October, UNICEF Mongolia describes Teacher with a Tablet, launched with the Ministry of Education in 2023 to reach nomadic families living far from preschool services. [1]

Teachers from nearby kindergartens visit families and use tablet resources while involving parents in activities. The work follows the national preschool curriculum, from early language and number skills to communication and social development. UNICEF reports more than 14,500 children reached since launch and over 550 teachers trained during the past two years. [1]

These are participation figures reported by the organisation, not an independent measurement of learning outcomes or proof that every family is covered. Distance, weather and seasonal movement remain practical barriers. [1]
